Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has asked party functionaries to increasingly tap the potential of RTI and social media during campaign to expose "corruption" under Congress rule at the Centre and states.

During a closed-door interaction with party functionaries here last night, Modi reminded them that the "fight against corruption" was going to be the central plank of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

According to BJP sources here, Modi said social media could be effective in taking party's key themes and messages to a wide spectrum of electorate, especially the youngsters who constitute a major chunk of voters.

He said BJP stood a good chance of coming to power as people across the country were grossly dissatisfied with corruption under the Congress rule and they looked at the saffron party as a viable alternative.

Modi said his government in Gujarat has plans to set up a big statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel as the vision of India's first Home Minister would be a vital component of the development paradigm if BJP was voted to power at the centre.

Modi, who arrived here last evening after his public rally at Bhopal, keenly elicited views of the party workers on the scenario prevailing in Kerala and discussed the ways to end the party's electoral failure in the state.

BJP state President V Muraleedharan, senior leader and former Union Minister O Rajagopal, party's Vice-President Bandaru Dattatreya and National Secretary P K Krishadas attended the session.
