RSS backs Modi for PM, says BJP must go with the mood of the country.
New Delhi: In a big boost for Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP Election Campaign Committee Chairman Narendra Modi, RSS on Tuesday backed his Prime Minister candidature.
RSS leader Ram Madhav said the party has conveyed its stand to the BJP on Modi's PM candidature. "The mood in the country is clear that a specific change is needed in the BJP's leadership," he added. Madhav, however, said that it is BJP's call to make any decision public.
Modi is close to clinching the nod to be PM candidate of the BJP, after the RSS conveyed its support. The RSS-BJP held two-day meeting in New Delhi, which ended on Monday.
