State Election Commission issues Civic body election schedule
Hoshangabad : Elections schedules of 6 Civic bodies namely Hoshangabad, Itarasi, Seoni Malwa, Pipria, Itarasi Muncipal Corporations and Municipal Councils of Babai and Sohagpur have been declared by the State Election Commission.
According to the programme schedule, the elections will be conducted on November 28 and December 2. The first step of counting will be on December 4 and the second step of counting will be on December 6.
Chief Election Officer Sanket Bhondwe said that the nomination applications will be available from November 5 onwards and the last date of getting the nomination application is November 12. The applications will be till 3pm in the afternoon everyday.
The letters will be checked on November 13 and the last date of taking the names back is November 15. The election symbols too would be distributed on the same day. The counting of votes will commence from November 4 and November 6 from 9am onwards.
It is to be noted that Hoshangabad district has around 33 wards and more than 91 voting centres will be in function during the elections and in the same manner Municipal Corporation of Pipariya has around 21 wards and with 44 voting booths, Municipal Corporation of Itarasi has 34 wards with 90 polling booths. Municipal Corporation of Seoni Malwa has 15 wards with 30 polling booths.
Municipal council of Babai has 15 wards with around 15 booths to vote. Municipal council of Sohagpur has 15 wards with 18 voting centres.
District Election Officer Sanket Bhondwe has informed that 6 civic bodies of the district have around 233638 voters, which consist of 121861 men and 111766 women and 11 others. Hoshangabad Municipal Corporation has around 81552 voters, which have around 42805 men and 38744 women.
Muncipal Council of Pipariya too has 34084 voters, which have around 17779 men and 16303 women, including 2 others.
The municipal corporation of Hoshangabad has around 81552 voters, which have around 42805 men and 38744 women and 3 others.
Muncipal Corporation of Itarasi has around 70526 voters and has around 36622 men, 33896 women and 3 others. Muncipal Corporation of Seoni Malwa has 10477 men and 9639 women including 3 other voters. City Council of Suhaagpur has around 16611 voters, which consist of 8567 men and 8044 women. City council of Babai has 10746 voters, which have 5606 men and 5140 women voters.
