BJP tops the list of poll code violations.
BHOPAL: BJP leads the pack in poll code violations, going by the complaints received by the Election Commission.
From doling out money at public events by leaders, including industries minister Kailash Vijaywargiya and former BJP MLA Anchal Sonkar to organizing public meeting without permission by former Congress MLA Kalpana Parulekar, a number of complaints have been received.
Of the nearly 100 poll code violations reported so far, maximum pour in from the BJP camp, followed by the Congress. Besides, an FIR has been registered against the workers of Aam Aadmi Party and two FIRs of poll code violations have also been lodged against Baba Ramdev.
Partymen continue to violate the code by imprinting names on tankers meant for water supply and distributing calendars with images of leaders. Following complaint by the opposition, name of the BJP MLA was removed from the water tankers in Tikamgarh district.
Similarly, taking suo motu cognizance of the code of conduct, election officials removed a yellow beacon light from the vehicle of district Congress panchayat president. Not staying behind, BJP leaders also complained in Mandsaur that money meant for Nehru Yuva Kendra was being used for party promotion by Congress leaders.

Since the date of assembly polls were announced, Election Commission has received over 90 complaints of poll code violation from across the state. Where, in most of the cases decision has been taken, in some complaints guidelines from ECI have been sought and instructions are awaited, said an official from the office of CEO.
