Railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge today presented the interim rail budget in Lok Sabha.
New Delhi: Union Rail Minister Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday announced 72 new trains in Interim Railway Budget 2014. Of the new trains, 17 are premium trains, 38 express trains, 10 passenger trains, 4 MEMUs and 3 DEMUs.
Besides the new services, three trains will be extended and frequency of same number of trains will be increased.

- IRFC, the financing arm of Railways to borrow Rs. 12,800 crore from market
- Railways operating ratio, measure of expenses as a percentage of revenue, for 2013-14 at 90.8 per cent
- FY15 freight loading target 1101 MT
- FDI being enabled for rail infrastructure
