Decision on electing CM of Jharkhand will be taken by the Parliamentary Board of party: Yadunath Pandey
Former state BJP president Yadunath Pandey today said the decision on electing the Chief Minister of Jharkhand in case BJP comes to power will be taken by the Parliamentary Board of the party. He said the Constitution does not say whether the would be CM should be Adivasi or non-Adivasi.
The decision on the issue will be taken by the party internally and will be made public at the right time. Asked about the cause of under-development of the state, Pandey, who visited city today, said the lack of cooperation from alliance partners was a reason for the lack of development of the state.
He said the BJP had appointed an Adivasi CM on coming to power in the state. Pandey said the party had sent a proposal to the Central government to increase the total number of seats in Jharkhand Assembly to 150. He said the United Progressive Alliance government had taken no action in this regard. He said he would soon meet Central government ministers on the issue.
The BJP leader further said that the recent hike in railway fare was a bitter pill to cure the ‘ailing’ country handed over by the previous regime to the BJP led Central government. He said the government had no other option but to increase the rail fare. The long term impact of the budgetary provisions will be seen in the next couple of years, he said.
