Greater Warangal Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed said over six lakh voters will elect their corporators in 58 divisions of the corporation on March 6.
Vote Counting has started for Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation Election 2016.Counting is expected to be completed by 2pm.

GWMC registered 60.3% voter turnout
Hours of polling 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Voting has started for GWMC Polls today at 7;00 AM. Heavy security has been arranged at all the 58 divisions in the GWMC limits.
Already ACPs have given counseling to all the rowdy sheeters. He also said if any citizens face any problem, they can send photos or videos to the police WhatsApp number 9491089257.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said that the process of conducting election will begin on Monday with issue of notification and acceptance of nominations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The deposit amount for general candidates is Rs. 5,000 while it is Rs. 2,500 for SC, ST and BC candidates. The election code of conduct would be applicable within the jurisdiction of the municipal corporation.
The state government had earlier finalised the reservations for the 58 wards under the GWMC. While the BCs are allotted 19 seats, the SCs were given 9, STs 2, women 13 and another 13 positions are unreserved. Mayoral post is open general.
