Five Independent MLAs resigned from the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) ahead of the ensuing election slated for February 23. A notification issued by the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat states that consequently, the Speaker, NLA, has declared the seats mentioned against their names as vacant. The members include Chotisuh Sazo of 18 Chozuba Assembly Constituency (A/C), Dr. Nganghi K.Ao of 25-Mongoya A/C, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe of 35-Zunheboto A/C, Dako Phom of 49-Tamlu A/C and C. Chotisuh Sazo who, in 2008, had defeated strong regionalist and veteran politician Thenucho from 18 Chozuba A/C, said that he resigned to formally join the NPF and expressed his “faith and confidence” in the NPF leadership.
