National BJP president, Rajnath Singh, exuded confidence For  Victory In Nagaland Poll, BJP president Rajnath confident of DAN win,Nagaland News.

20 Feb. 2013

National BJP president, Rajnath Singh, exuded confidence that Nagas would vote for the pre-poll DAN alliance of NPF, BJP and JD (U) to form the next government in Nagaland.

He said this while addressing a press conference at Dimapur airport Tuesday, prior to his departure for New Delhi at the conclusion of a whirlwind election campaign in Aboi and Tizit.

Rajnath however deflect the inconvenient question of why the BJP, which claimed to be avowed against corruption, was doing the opposite in Nagaland by aligning itself with the ruling NPF.

When asked why the BJP, which had attacked DAN for corruption recently, has now backed the same DAN government he replied “I can state with full confidence that the BJP has never compromised with corruptions and in future too there is no question of BJP compromising with corruption”.

He asserted that during the NDA regime, not a single corruption charge was leveled at the ministers and that NDA was not hit by any corruption.

He attacked the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for corruption and predicted that the pre-poll DAN alliance with NPF, BJP and JD (U) will retain power in Nagaland.

He maintained that Naga people knew that the BJP-led NDA government under Atal Behari Vajpayee, had strived to establish peace and normalcy in Nagaland. He reiterated that the BJP-led NDA if it comes to power will solve the Naga political issue in a unique way.

Rajnath further promised the people of Nagaland, that if the BJP returns to power at the Centre, it will provide special economic package for the north east.

He reminded that during the NDA regime under Vajpayee, the centre had formed a separate ministry for the region. He blamed the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for rising prices of essential commodities, fiscal deficit, dip in the rupee value all of which have derailed the economy.

Rajnath said in contrast, during the then NDA government, GDP rate was 8.4% but in the nine years of the UPA, the GDP has come down to approximately 5.2%.

He also said whenever BJP was in power, it provided 50% reservation for women in local bodies and assured that when DAN comes to power, BJP would ensure 33% women reservation was implemented.

Rajnath also referred to the Rs. 362 crore Helicopter deal that has unraveled and demanded that there should be an inquiry into the scam. On the February 18 arrest of Nagaland home minister Imkong L.Imchen for possessing Rs.1.10 Crore, arms and ammunitions, the BJP president replied that law will take its own course.

ABOI: Earlier, the BJP president while addressing an elelction rally in Aboi, Mon said that former Prime Minister Atal bihari Vajapee had an emotional attachment with the people of Nagaland and it was during his tenure that he Nagaland 3 times which no other prime ministers has done so far.

Rajnath Singh also gave credit to the NDA regime for the creation of DoNER ministry for the development of the Northeast. He said that more than Rs.1000 crore liabilities of Nagaland were recovered during NDA regime.

Informing that according to world survey, BJP was voted for better governance in India, the BJP president said Congress should be democratically voted out for their failure in all front.

Terming Union Home Ministers’ statement on solving the Naga issue within few months as a mockery, he said that Naga issue could be solved only by the BJP.

Expressing confidence of forming the next government at the Centre in 2014, he requested the voters in Aboi to vote for the BJP candidate. He also assured of providing special developmental package for the maximum development of the ENPO areas, as it was their top most priority.

The BJP president also assured of implementing 33% women reservation. The rally was attended by about 2000 party workers and supporters.

Rajnath Singh was accompanied by BJP national general secretaries Tapir Goa, P.B Acharya (in-charge North East), state BJP president Dr. Chuba Ao and others.
