The State is gearing up for the ensuing Assembly election with the filing of nomination papers scheduled to begin from January 30.

Expressing satisfaction over the election preparedness in the State, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Prashant Naik on Monday said things are looking smooth and the electoral officers are fully prepared February 23 election.

“We would be issuing a notification on Wednesday, which is also the first day of filing of the nomination papers,” Naik said.

“The last date of filing of the nomination is February 6 while the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on February 7,” he said adding that the last date for withdrawal of nominations papers is February 9.

Naik also informed that the 13 election observers for the State would start arriving from Tuesday onwards.

The counting of votes will be held on February 28.

The term of the present Assembly ends on March 10.

The Nomination process for the upcoming assembly poll will end today in Tripura. Now the focus of all political parties will now shift their focus to woo voters for election on 14th February.
The Campaigning for the upcoming assembly poll of Tripura is slowly picking up. With the nomination process finally coming to an end today evening and after hectic parleys in selection of candidates all the parties are now focusing on there campaigning strategy to woo their voters.

The Nomination process which started from 21st of this month will end today evening. Till last information 188 candidates filled there nomination papers for the upcoming poll.
With the Nomination process coming to an end now it is turn for the Heavyweights to campaign for there respective parties in the state. Meanwhile political parties are seen busy in campaigning from street corners, to big and small gatherings to door to door.
Thus all effort are being put so that mandates of the voter can be in there favour for the assembly poll to be held on 14th of February. But its time only which will say who gets the mandate to rule Tripura on 28th of February which is the counting day.
