Modi government serious in changing Governors in five states including UP

 

The Narendra Modi government is now mulling changing Governors who were appointed by the UPA-II government. As per reports the government is likely to change Governors of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab.


UP Governor BL Joshi steps down, sends his papers to MHA

In response to changing governors in five states Utter Pradesh Governor Banwari Lal Joshi stepped down on Tuesday. He has sent his resignation papers to the Home Ministry. The move came after the Narendra Modi government was mulling replacing Governors who were appointed by the UPA-II government. Sources said that Modi government is planning to change the Governors of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab.


 

Looking forward for agricultural reforms from the Modi government, says Arun Shourie

 

Senior BJP leader Arun Shouri has said that one can expect major agriculture reforms from the Modi government. He said that Modi government has to put India back on the high-growth path, scrap controversial laws like the retrospective taxation law revive investments and bring in big bang reforms.


 

Ministers have to wait for private secretaries as PMO strikes down the demand.

 

In a rather strong move, the PMO has struck down the proposals made by some of his ministers including Home Minister Rajnath Singh for the appointment of their private secretaries. Sources say the PMO had turned down the choices made by four ministers for their private secretaries. This comes on close heels of Prime Minister’s clear directions to his Council of Ministers to choose their office staff.

Karnataka, Assam Governors deny resigning, Sheila too undecided

Political row has sparked off after sources revealed that the government is planning to remove the governors appointed by the Congress. While Uttar Pradesh Governor tendered his resignation on Tuesday, sources say that all Governors appointed by the Congress are likely to submit their resignation too. According to sources, those who refuse to resign could be transferred by the government. Meanwhile, Karanataka Governor HR Bharadwaj and Assam governor JB Patnaik have denied reports that they will resign from their posts.
