Kolkata Civci poll: West Bengal BJP Releases manifesto for Civic poll
The BJP on Thursday released a draft manifesto for the April 18 election to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. "We are releasing a draft manifesto today. We have uploaded it on our website for suggestions from common people for a final manifesto. This process will continue for two to three days," BJP state president Rahul Sinha said.
All political parties, including the ruling Trinamool Congress, the Left Front and the Congress, have come out with their respective manifestos. A section of BJP leaders, who did not wish to be named, said the dealy was due to infighting in the BJP over leadership issues and ticket distribution.
Street fights had broken out outside the BJP state and district headquarters in the last week of March, mainly over ticket distribution. The BJP in its draft manifesto has promised better filtered water supply system, better drainage system and other civic amenities.
