Hinting that BJP and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) might cobble up an alliance in Haryana before the coming assembly elections, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday said it was nearly certain that both the parties would join hands to fight elections in the state. Quizzed whether the SAD would support INLD or its NDA alliance partner BJP in the coming Haryana assembly elections, general secretary and member Parliament from Anandpur Sahib Prem Singh Chandumjara said here that "it is nearly certain that all the three parties (SAD, INLD and BJP) would join hands to contest Haryana assembly elections".

"Deliberations are on to bring INLD and BJP on a common platform. It is nearly certain that alliance between Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) and BJP would be over and INLD, BJP and SAD would form the new alliance in the state before elections," said Chandumajra at a press conference in Patiala.

He also said SAD would field its candidates in some seats of Haryana, probably in Karnal district, but seats would be finalized after discussions with the alliance parties. Traditional allies SAD and INLD witnessed political paradox in the recently-concluded general elections in Haryana, where INLD and BJP couldn't from alliance and SAD, one of the oldest allies of BJP in NDA, had supported INLD in some seats.

Targeting senior Punjab BJP leader Balramji Dass Tandon for his reported remarks that Akalis had not taken state BJP leaders along while meeting PM Narendra Modi, Chandumajra said Tandon should avoid criticizing Akalis. "Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal doesn't need permission from any of Punjab BJP leaders before meeting Narendra Modi. He, in the capacity of Punjab's CM, can meet Modi in a similar way he used to meet former PM Manmohan Singh," he said.
