ABP News Opinion Poll: The mood in Bihar

bihar election 2015 opinion pollNew Delhi: As the battle ground is laid for a stern test in Bihar assembly election, ABP News brings to you a Opinion Poll that gauges the political mood of the people in state. The current scenario is significant as the Modi government completes a year in office.

The OpinionPoll has suggested that if the alliance between Congress (24), RJD (61) and JDU (42) is set to win 127 out of the 243 seats & making a claim to form the government. BJP (93), LJP (3) and RLSP (16) together is likely to bag only 112 seats. While Others in the fray get just four seats.

The vote share percentage of Congress is 8.29%, JDU 22.41%, RJD 18.9%, BJP 16.54%LJNSP 6.74%. Independents and Others gets a 27.12% vote share.

The BJP knows in Manjhi's revolt, there was a clear window open to get the votes of the Mahadalits, the community to which the former chief minister belonged and which accounts for about 15 per cent of Bihar's electorate.

It has been found that the BJP clearly the preferred party on voting intention.

Modi’s effect in Bihar

About three fourths of the respondents say that there has been development in Bihar in the last one year under Modi government at the Centre. This is more pronounced in the urban respondents.

Performance of Nitish

The performance of Nitish Kumar  as CM of Bihar has been rated as above average, with 20% rating him Very Good and 48% rating him as Good.

Performance of JDU government in Bihar has been rated as above average, with 18% rating it Very Good and 42% rating it as Good.

Popular leader in Bihar

Nitish Kumar (52%) has been mentioned as the most popular leader in Bihar by more than half the respondents, with Sushil Modi (17%) and Lalu Yadav (11%) following at a distance.

Modi vs Nitish – Who’s more Popular

Narendra Modi (64%) is perceived as by far being the more popular leader in Bihar compared to Nitish Kumar (32%).

Law and order situation

Majority 61% respondents feel that the law and order situation has improved in Bihar under Nitish Kumar’s government.

Manjhi should have been sacked as CM

Around 59% respondents feel that it was right for Nitish Kumar to remove Jitan Ram Manjhi from the post of CM of Bihar. This feeling is more pronounced among the rural respondents and this figure is lower at 42% among the SC/ST.
