While The BJP is leaving no stone unturned to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s daylong Assam trip Tuesday successful, the Congress has launched a campaign asking questions intended to embarrass the PM.

“Achche din? Where is achche din?” asked one of the numerous hoardings put up across the state in the last few days. “Look, the dream merchant comes again. But will he be able to sell sour mangoes again?” asked another, while a third asked, “What did Assam get out of BJP ministers’ 210 trips to the state in 19 months of Modi government? Vikash or Vinash (Development or destruction)?”

Modi will arrive here early on Tuesday morning. He will then visit Kokrajhar to address a meeting organised by the Bodo People’s Front (BPF). It was only on Sunday night that the BPF forged an alliance with the BJP. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi hit out at Modi for attending the BPF meeting, saying “I have never seen a PM attending a political rally of another party. BJP is nervous. They cannot win on their own.”
