Bodh Gaya Blast :BJP leaders visit Bodh Gaya, say UPA has linked security with votes, Bodh Gaya, Mahabodhi Blast.

Bodh Gaya:

12:58 pm: "The investigation is going on, so I can't talk about this. BJP was fine with Nitish Kumar till now. All of a sudden they have a problem with him and are blaming him. BJP has no policy or standards," says Congress leader V Narayanasamy.

12:11 pm: Investigators believe a vehicle would have been used to carry the 13 cylinders which were used in the blast.

11:31 am: Arun Jaitley also addresses media and says the government needs to strengthen the security system in the country. He alleges that the UPA has bartered security issues with votebank politics.

11:28 am: Hitting out at the Nitish Kumar government, Rajnath Singh says if there was an intelligence input about a probable attack on a Buddhist shrine, the security should have been stepped up at the Mahabodhi temple. "No state can fight terrorism or Maoist violence on its own, it needs centre's support," he adds.

11:27 am: The BJP President says that security agencies should work in coordination to combat terrorism.

11:26 am: Rajnath Singh accuses Congress of pitting the CBI against the IB. "Today the IB and the CBI are standing against each other because of the central government policy," he says.

11:25 am: The government should make a comprehensive plan to fight terrorism, he says.

11:24 am: The Congress-led UPA has failed to tackle terrorism, says Digvijaya Singh.

11:23 am: BJP condemns the serial blasts at the temple, seeks an inquiry into the terror attack.

Two days after 10 blasts took place in the Mahabodhi temple, Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh on Tuesday reached Bodh Gaya to review the situation.

The BJP had held its former ally Nitish Kumar responsible for the terror attack saying his government failed to prevent the blasts as it was left weakened after it walked out of the coalition in June. "If there were intelligence reports then why no action was taken by state government," the party had said.

The Bihar Chief Minister, however, rubbished the claim saying his government was not weak. He also alleged that the BJP and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were hand in gloves as both the parties criticised the state government on the serial blasts.

"Some understanding between the BJP and RJD will be internal and some will be visible," said the Janata Dal United leader. "The BJP was thrown out of power, so they want to form an alliance. They are holding talks with the RJD to form an unholy nexus in Bihar," he said.

The Congress, however, is trying to reach out at the Bihar Chief Minister. Party General Secretary Digvijaya Singh on Monday accused the BJP of politicising the issue by attacking the Bihar government.

The JD(U) broke its 17-year-old alliance with the BJP after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra was anointed as the party Election Campaign Committee chairperson. Since then, there is a verbal duel between the two parties.

Meanwhile, there has been no headway in the investigation. The Bihar Police has not been able to come up with any major leads in the case yet. If in the next few days the Bihar Police doesn't come up with credible leads in the case, the investigation is likely to be handed over to the National Investigation Agency .
