Pakistan Muslim League party wins PoK election, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider,Kashmir Valley,Nawaz Sharif,Pakistan Muslim League,Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, AJK elections
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (PML) party won 31 of the 41assembly seats in the vote held on July 21. Haider is the regional chief of the PML, who spearheaded the party to victory. As many as 427 candidates of different political parties as well as independents had contested the election. Haider is believed to be only the second Kashmiri origin prime minister of the PoK, after Khan Abdul Hameed Khan, who had assumed office in 1975.

All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and Pakistan Peoples Partyhave won three seats each.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-2,Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party -1 and Independent candidate could win one seat only.Prime Minister hopes the newly elected MLAs of Azad Kashmir would reinforce their support to the people of Occupied Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination.
