According to unofficial results, published on 5 December 2011 after 99.99% of votes have been counted, the votes were won in the following manner:^[4]

• 28 seats (28.54%) were won by the Positive Slovenia (PS) party, led by Zoran Janković.
  
  
• 26 seats (26.25%) were won by the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), led by Janez Janša.
  
  
• 10 seats (10.50%) were won by the Social Democrats (SD) party, led by Borut Pahor.
  
  
• 8 seats (8.42%) were won by the Gregor Virant's Civic List (LGV) party, led by Gregor Virant.
  
  
• 6 seats (6.97%) were won by the Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia party, led by Karl Erjavec.
  
  
• 6 seats (6.89%) were won by the Slovenian People's Party, led by Radovan Žerjav.
  
  
• 4 seats (4.79%) were won by the New Slovenia party, led by Ljudmila Novak.

Two seats are constitutionally allocated to one representative of the Italian and one representative of the Hungarian minority.
