About the Constituency:
The Parliamentary Constituency of Ghaziabad is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state of Uttar Pradesh which was formed post the 2008 Presidential notification of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. The Ghaziabad Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 12) has a total of 1,831,688 electorates out of which 793,799 are females and 1,037,889 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports.
About Ghaziabad:
The administrative headquarters of Ghaziabad district is situated in the city of Ghaziabad. It is located in the western part of the state at an average elevation of 250 meters and covers a total area of 210 sq. km. Hindi and Urdu are the prevalent languages of Ghaziabad. It is the primary industrial, commercial and educational center of western Uttar Pradesh and is emerging as a major real estate hub due to its proximity to the national capital, New Delhi. This city has a promising number of notable schools and colleges, both government and private, that also include a number of engineering and management institutes. National Highway NH 24 passes through this city.

According to the census data of 2011, Ghaziabad has a total population of 2,358,525 of which 52% are males and 48% are females. It has a sex ratio of 860 females per 1000 males. 14% of the population is below the age of six. The city of Ghaziabad has an average literacy rate of 93.81%.
