Sounsar: Expressing concern over the growing incidents of rapes in the country, BJP Vice-President Uma Bharti on Thursday said the issue should be tackled urgently by keeping aside political and regional considerations. "I am concerned with the growing incidents of rapes especially with minor girls, in the country. I am of firm opinion that the issue should be looked into by all concern by keeping aside politics and state-specific element," she said. The former Chief Minister was talking to reporters after performing puja at the famous Jaam Sanvli Temple in Sounsar in Chhindwara district on the occasion of 'Hanuman Jayanti'. Bharti said in order to sensitise police officials on the issue, he had advised Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to organise a workshop and formulate a special plan to deal with the menace. She said because of constitution of fast-track courts, women victims were getting quick justice in such cases, which is laudable. The former Union Minister said the Government should provide adequate safety and security to women and ensure they got due respect in the society. On the visit of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Madhya Pradesh, she said no one can be stopped from coming to the state, but he should first answer questions related to terrorism, inflation and corruption in the country. To a query, Bharti said under the leadership of BJP President Rajnath Singh, the party is creating a favourable atmosphere for itself in the country as well as in Madhya Pradesh and this will produce good results in coming days. Almost nine-and-a-half years ago, Bharti had launched a yatra from the same temple to oust the then Digvijaya Singh led Congress government in the state and was successful in her mission. source:http://ibnlive.in.com |
