"Yeh dil maange more" "Gravity", all is Modi's language
From the famous catch phrase 'Yeh dil maange more' to epic science fiction thriller "Gravity" were some of the ingredients in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on Monday saluting Indian space scientists. Modi takes stock of food price rises, faces criticism over fuel price hike
The first big challenge for the Newly Elected Modi government has coming close on the heels of the delayed monsoon with the prices of food supplies having risen sharply. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken stock of the rise in prices of essential commodities and asked states to urgently remove hitches in supply chain to ensure their uninterrupted flow. The Prime Minister has stepped in at a time when prices of several essential commodities, particularly onions, have sharply increased in the last week. In the national capital, onions are retailing for Rs 25 to 30 per kg, a hike of up to Rs 10. Meanwhile, the Modi government is also facing flak for the fuel price hike. The opposition has hit out at the Centre for further burdening the common man with another hike in fuel prices. The Samajwadi Party held protests in Modi's constituency Varanasi on Tuesday while Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has demanded a rollback, saying it comes as a disappointment to the people who voted for the BJP. Petrol prices were hiked by Rs 1.69 per liter from midnight. This comes as global crude oil prices have soared following the unrest in Iraq.

Modi matrimonial status case: Offence committed but FIR cannot be filed now
Ahemadabad Court today held that though N arendra Modi had committed an offence under RP Act by not disclosing his marital status while contesting Assembly polls in 2012, a petition seeking registration of an FIR against him cannot be entertained due to a time-bar prescribed for such cases. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate MM Sheikh of Ahmedabad (rural) court passed an order to this effect while disposing of an application by an AAP leader Nishant Verma which sought FIR to be registered against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "hiding" his marital status in the affidavit he had filed with his nomination in 2012. The court said "an offence is committed under section 125(A)(3) of Representation of People (RP) Act by not disclosing facts" about Modi's marital status. Section 125-A(3) of RP Act deals with penalty for concealing information while filing affidavit and provides for imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months.
