Modi's decision has been approved by Cabinet to scrap GoMs and EGoMs

The decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to scrap 30 GoMs and EGoMs set up by the previous UPA government received the formal nod of the Union Cabinet. Dismantling the legacy of UPA rule, Modi had on May 31 abolished all the 30 Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoMs) and Group of Ministers (GoMs) . Centre committed to bringing back Indians abducted in Iraq, assures Sushma

The government is committed and putting in all efforts to trace the Indians abducted in Iraq and bring them back home says External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. She added that she would be meeting the concerned family members of people who have allegedly been abducted by the ISIS militants. "I will be meeting the families today. NDA to bring broad changes in MNREGA

Newly Elected NDA government has decided to bring wide changes in the rural job guarantee scheme launched by previous government by proposing at least Rs 25,000 crore of investment into agriculture alone. The Rural Development Ministry has proposed to bring alteration to the Schedule I of the MGNREGA "to clearly bring forth the focus on agriculture". It has proposed to add provisions after Para 4 (2) of Schedule I of the Act. "The works taken up under MNREGA shall improve productivity in agriculture by creating infrastructure helpful for agriculture," says the ministry in a note sent to all states seeking their suggestions on the matter.
