Rao Inderjit says 'goodbye' to "Congress politics". 

Congress MP from Gurgaon Rao Inderjit Singh, who recently made headlines by demanding a probe into land deals involving Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, Monday announced he was bidding goodbye to "Congress politics".

Addressing a rally in Rewari, the former Union minister declared he would not contest the next elections on a Congress ticket as he was upset with the existing circumstances in the party. However, he said he had not resigned from Lok Sabha as the people had given him a five-year mandate.

Singh had recently raised concerns regarding dubious land deals in Haryana involving Vadra. He was also openly critical of the present Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime and the Congress high command for its alleged inability to take action. "Enough of 'Congress politics' for me. It is time to take some hard decisions," Singh told The Indian Express after the rally.

"I will not contest the next election under the banner of the Congress. I spent 35 years in the party but things were never as bad as they are now. Hence, it is time to say farewell to Congress politics," said Singh, a third-time MP who has been elected to the Assembly four times. On whether he would rethink his decision if the party approaches him, he said, "I have taken a decision and there is no retreat under any circumstances."
