- After 19 Round Congress candidate Neelanshu Chaturvedi was ahead with 19,000 votes from closest BJP Candidate Shankar Dayal Tripathi
- After 6th Round Congress candidate Neelanshu Chaturvedi was ahead with 10,000 votes from closest BJP Candidate.
- Polling for Chitrakoot Assembly in Madhya Pradesh has started at 8.00 am on Thursday and will conclude at 5.00 pm.

The counting of votes for Chitrakoot Assembly bypoll 2017 is underway. The count of postal ballots was zero. After second round of vote count, Congress candidate Neelanshu Chaturvedi was ahead with 3001 votes.
Madhya Pradesh Chitrakoot By Election 2017 Schedule Dates
- The Election Commission on Friday announced bye-election to fill the vacant Chitrakoot seat in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. The voting for Chitrakoot bypoll will take place on November 9 while counting will take place on November 12.
- The bypoll in Chitrakoot was necessitated after Congress MLA Prem Singh died in May 2017. Prem Singh had won the Chitrakoot seat thrice – in 1998, 2003 and 2013. With Chitrakoot being a Congress bastion for three elections, it will be a litmus test for the party to retain the seat. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party is hoping to grab the Chitrakoot seat before the state goes to polls in November 2018.
