A Gram Panchayat, City Corporation, Mahanagar Palika or Mahanagar Nigam is a local government in India that administers urban areas with a population of more than one million.
First Phase: On October 8, Along with the municipalities, Sarpanch elections were held. An average 79% voting was registered in the first phase. S. Saharia said.
Polling was held for 3131 seats in Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Nanded, Parbhani, Jalna, Latur, Hingoli, Akola, Yavatmal, Washim and Buldhana.
Second phase On 17 October
Counting Underway (Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Election Results 2017 )
- Three out of four gram panchayats go to BJP in Nagpur’s Vathoda Circle.
- Nagpur – Kalmeshwar Taluka – out of 23 BJP gets 14, Ramtek – out of 8 BJP gets 4, Umred – Out of 7 BJP gets 4, Bhiwapur, out of 10, BJP gets 5, Kuhi – Out of 4 BJP gets 1, Hingana – Out of 7 BJP gets 4.
- Dhanashri Dhomane has won in the Fetri village.
- The counting is underway. The first update we had was from Fetri village in Nagpur, which was adopted by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in 2015. In the Fetri village, BJP-supported candidate has lost to the Congress-NCP supported candidate by 300 votes.
- It was reported that votes will be counted on Monday (October 16) but due to some reasons it was postponed.
- The results will be declared for a total of 7,576 Gram Panchayats (GPs), spread over 34 districts in Maharashtra. The mentioned districts went to polls in two phases on October 7 and 14.
- He had also congratulated the BJP unit of Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state party president Raosaheb Patil Danve for the victory.
Earlier on Tuesday, after Bharatiya Janata Party’s impressive win in first phase of Gram Panchayat polls across the state, PM Narendra Modi expressed gratitude towards people of Maharashtra and tweeted,”I thank people of Maharashtra for the impressive win of BJP in Gram Panchayat polls across the state. I congratulate Maharashtra BJP, Devendra Fadnavis and Raosaheb Patil Danve for the impressive performance in Gram Panchayat polls across the state.”
The results of phase II of Maharashtra Gram Panchayat elections will be declared on Tuesday.
The counting of votes was scheduled to begin this morning by the State Election Commission.
18 districts, about 4,119 Gram Panchayats will be voting for the post of sarpanchapada. Three Gram Panchayats in Ratnapur, Rajuri and Shivur talukas were voted electoral and peaceful elections. In the three Gram Panchayats, an average turnout was 84 .

- Maharashtra Next Round of Gram Panchayat Elections will take place from October 2017 to February 2018.
- Elections Will take place in all these divisions:- Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad, and Nagpur Division.
