About 70% polling took place in Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) polls.
The polls to the 81-ward KMC appear to be a keenly fought contest between the BJP-Tara Rani Aghadi alliance and the Congress, NCP and the Shiv Sena. Election for 81 corporators began on Monday
Besides these, the local parties that contested included, S Raju Mane led S-4 A Vikas with 12 candidates, RSP with 15 candidates, PWPI with 12 candidates, BVI with 2 candidates and LJP with 1 candidate. Local alliances include BJP’s ally Tara Rani Aghadi, which fielded 39 candidates, Swabhimani Paksha with 3 people, RPI(A) with 1 candidate and the Independents with 129 candidates.
