Candidates contesting Vasai-Virar civic polls to fill online nomination forms
MUMBAI: Candidates contesting the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) election will have to fill their nomination forms online.
The election for the 115 seats will be held on June 14. So far 76 candidates have registered for online filing of the nomination forms. Special sessions on filling online forms were undertaken by the state election department. In addition to filing the forms online, candidates will have to physically submit copies of the nomination forms to the election department.
Political parties are still to finalise the list of candidates. The ruling Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) is likely to contest all the seats. A decision on whether the BJP and Shiv Sena will form an alliance is still to be decided. The Congress and NCP will contest the election independently but may not contest all the seats.
The last date for filing nomination forms is May 29.
