- The Election Commission on Wednesday announced to hold a bypoll to the Karnataka Legislative Council to fill up a vacancy.
- The decision to hold the bypoll came after the assembly constituency became vacant following the demise of Smt. Vimala Gowda on June 17 this year.
- Gowda was the sitting member elected by the Members of Legislative Assembly.
- The Commission will hold the bye-election to fill up the vacancy in accordance with the following programme:
