Ranchi:
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today inducted six ministers in his cabinet. Governor Syed Ahmed administered the oath to all the six newly-inducted ministers simultaneously at Raj Bhavan. The newly inducted ministers are Champai Soren, Simon Marandi, Hazi Hussan Ansari, Jaiprakash Bhai Patel (all JMM), Suresh Paswan (RJD) and Geetashree Oraon (Congress). With today’s expansion, chief minister now has nine ministers in his council. As per the constitutional provision he can have a maximum of 12 ministers including himself. Hemant Soren-led UPA government (JMM, Congress, RJD and some smaller parties and Independents) had taken oath on July 13 after staking claim for government formation on 9 July. Speaking to the media later, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said his government was moving in the right direction by taking one step at a time. “And very soon the state will pick up rapidity on the path of development,” he said. Soren said he would soon expand his cabinet for a second time, adding his government’s aim was to step up development after finishing all formalities vis-à-vis completion of inducting three more ministers to take his cabinet’s final strength to twelve.
