Jammu Kashmir National Conference announce next list of candidates on sunday
As the chief minister Omar Abdullah arrived in Srinagar after concluding his week-long personal visit to London, the party is all set to declare its next list of candidates for upcoming assembly elections on Sunday.
Nasir Aslam Wani, NC provincial president said: “Yes the party will be issuing its next list of candidates on Sunday.”
The 4th list of the party candidates that is scheduled to be declared on Sunday will include the candidature chief minister Omar Abdullah. Omar will go through the list that his party general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar has prepared in consultation with other party senior leaders.
Sources said that additional general secretary of National Conference Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal will not contest the polls this time and would prefer to play a vital role in strengthening of the party.
Kamal when contacted said that there is no pick and choose in the party and the nomination of the candidates is done on the constitutional way. “If the party decides to choose me I will be ready. What is wrong with me that I would not contest the forthcoming elections?” Kamal said.
