PM Narendra Modi scheduled to make first official visit to J&K on July 4
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make his first official visit to Jammu & Kashmir on July 4. He is likely to chair the security review meeting here at the Army's 15 Corp headquarters, it is learnt. Sources said Modi will chair an 'extensive' security review with senior officials of army and intelligence agencies. Besides army officers governor N N Vohra and chief minister Omar Abdullah will also attend the meeting, they said.
Senior security officials would brief Modi about the latest situation on the Line of Control and in the hinterland. The return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri migrants would also figure in the discussion in Srinagar, it is learnt. Also Read-- PDP finalizes second list of candidates.
Before this meeting, Modi is scheduled to flag off the inaugural train at the newly-constructed Katra Railway Station — the base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage in Reasi district. He is also scheduled to inaugurate the 240 MW Uri-II hydroelectric power project in Baramulla district.
