Ram Vilas Paswan keeps Congress, BJP guessing; says his options are open
With Lok Sabha elections approaching, the hunt for allies is in full force. In the first big tie-up ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) have entered into an alliance in Bihar.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan will contest in 8 seats in Bihar. He will be meeting BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday.
Paswan will be announcing his re-entry into the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Wednesday.

Third Front takes shape but Naveen Patnaik distances himself
New Delhi: While 11 parties led by Left on Tuesday vowed to offer an alternative to the BJP and Congress, the Asom Gana Parishad and the Biju Janata Dal, which abstained, appear to have sent a signal that they would prefer to keep their options open in the post poll scenario.

List of AIADMK candidates for Lok Sabha 2014
Chennai: After the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa talked about her national aspirations recently, the party on her 66th birthday, released its list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
AIADMK is gearing up to conquer Tamil Nadu as its arch rival DMK is in disarray. The list has 39 candidates who will contest from Tamil Nadu while one is from Puducherry.

Lok Sabha elections: Alliances in East and Northeast
New Delhi: All major states in the Eastern India and two states in Northeastern part of India are being ruled by regional parties. Political alliances take a new shape every time there is an election, be it Assembly or Parliament.
Among all states in the East and Northeast, West Bengal has the highest number of 42 Lok Sabha Seats followed by Bihar with 40 seats.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has already floated the idea of a Federal Front to counter the Third Front led by her arch rivals the communist parties.

Gandhi and Shashtri kin likely in AAP's 2nd list
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party is likely to release its second list of candidates for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on Monday. Rabbi Shergil, Adarsh Shashtri, Rajmohan Gandhi, Sandeep Choudhury's names are likely to figure in the second list. The party had released its first list of candidates earlier this month.
