UK General Election 2015: Labour leading Tories, poll shows
THE UK’s opposition Labour Party has secured its biggest opinion poll lead since September over Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservatives, according to YouGov.
Labour was backed by 36% of those surveyed by pollster YouGov for the UK’s Sunday Times, with the Conservative Party trailing at 32%. The figures would give Labour 314 parliamentary seats to 251 for the Tories.
The survey was the biggest since last Thursday’s televised interviews with Mr Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband.
A poll by Opinium for the Observer foretold a closer election result on May 7, with both parties tied at 34% support. That marked a decline of two percentage points from a week ago for the Conservatives, with Labour’s showing unchanged.

Mr Cameron used an interview with the Sunday Telegraph to shore up support among disillusioned Conservative voters by pledging to cut income tax for married couples. And Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said the Conservatives would spend an extra £8bn on the health service.
Mr Cameron maintains a personal advantage over Mr Miliband, with 35% of those polled saying he would make the best prime minister among a field of four party leaders, though Mr Miliband’s approval rating climbed to 23%.
