Jayalalitha Demands arrest of A Raja, Jayalalitha and A Raja, Jayalalitha News
Resignation of minister A Raja over the controversy arousing from the 2G scam is not enough to keep the mouths of opposition political parties in Tamil Nadu shut. In a statement to the media, opposition leader J Jayalalithaa makes it clear that mere resignation is not enough to keep the state safe from harmful politicians like A Raja.
Jayalalithaa has stated that A Raja should be put behind bars without delay as this can be the only fitting punishment given to a man who was involved in one of the biggest scams of this century.
The AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa also says in her statement to the media that their party has not only embraced the news of resignation of Union Minister of Telecommunications A Raja, but has also not stopped from criticizing him on grounds of ill behavior with constitutional offices including that of the Indian Prime Minister and the Supreme Court.
In her statement, J Jayalalithaa has asked for the immediate arrest of A Raja, saying that he should be charged with the Prevention of Corruption Act as stated in the Indian judiciary.
Jayalalithaa has also said that what sounds trouble to her ears is that Manmohan Singh did not ask for the resignation of A Raja, rather it was DMK chief M Karunanidhi who wanted the minister to resign from his post because of constitutional inconveniences. And it is precisely for this reason that Jayalalithaa wants A Raja behind bars and booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
