Vasundhara Raje will be sworn in as the Chief minister of Rajasthan on friday.
JAIPUR: The Rajasthan state BJP is busy preparing for December 13 when Vasundhara Raje will be sworn in as the chief minister. Though the oath taking ceremony would be a state function the party is working hard to make the ceremony a big success. "Invitations in Raje's name are being forwarded to party workers at the mandal level.
The turn-out would be similar to the concluding ceremony of the Suraaj Sankalp Yatra in Jaipur, which was held on September 10,'' said a senior party member.
The ceremony will be held here on Friday between 11.45am and 2pm at the North Gate of the Rajasthan Assembly. Raje, on Tuesday, met governor Margaret Alva and staked claim to form the government in the state. Accompanied by senior leaders of the state Raje informed Alva about the party's legislative committee meeting held a day earlier, where she was elected as the leader.
Interacting with the media outside the Raj Bhawan after the meeting, Raje said, "the oath taking ceremony here would be similar to that in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisharh. The new cabinet which would be formed would also be on a similar pattern in the three states.''
Party members claimed that a small dais on both sides of the main stage would be set up - one for religious leaders and one for senior party members. Sitting arrangement for the legislators, state government officials and other guests would be on the main Janpath Road. More than one dozen large screens would be placed across the city for live telecast of the ceremony.
The ceremony would be attended by several national leaders including party's national president Rajnath Singh and prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Parallel to the party's preparations are speculations over Raje's new team. Raje is not expected to spring any major surprise in the new team.
