Jharkhand Panchayat elections 3rd phase Live Voting %
72.54 % turnout in 3rd phase of Jharkhand panchayat polls
- Deoghar district recorded the maximum turnout at 81 %
- Simdgea recorded minimum 61.22 %
- Ghatshila registered 70.9 per cent polling
- Bodam 81.7 per cent
- Patamba 83.1 per cent.
In the third phase, voting will begin at 70 blocks of the State from 7 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. A total of 44.63 lakh voters will decide the fate 35,456 candidates vying for 16,782 different posts. Number of women voters is 21, 39,935.
The State Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements at the 14,098 booths across Jharkhand. The Election Commission is on a high after first two phase concluded peacefully with large voter turn-outs. Shiv Basant, State Election Commissioner, said that special arrangements have been made at Ranchi’s Ratu, Khalari, Budhmu, Chanho, Mandar along with 70 blocks of Jharkhand.
In the third phase, polling will take place at 157 booths in Seraikela, 176 booths in Kharswan and 129 booths in Kharswan.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the third phase of the three-tier panchayat polls scheduled for December 5 in Maoist-hit blocks of Kuchai, Seraikela and Kharswan.
