" Haryana Chief Minisetr Bhupindra Singh Hooda " Bhupinder Singh Hooda (born 15 September 1947) is an Indian politician and leader of the Indian National Congress who has been Chief Minister of Haryana[1] since March 2005. He began a second term in October 2009 after leading the Congress Party to an election victory. This was the first time since 1972 that a party had returned to power in Haryana 2 times consecutively . He is from the Indian National Congress. He is also a Member of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana. On April 8, 2010, Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had constituted the Working Group on Agriculture Production under his chairmanship to recommend strategies and action plan for increasing agricultural production and productivity, including long-term policies to ensure sustained agricultural growth.
Personal Life Info Bhupinder Singh Hooda was born to Ranbir Singh Hooda and Har Devi Hooda at the Sanghi village in Rohtak district of Haryana. His father Ranbir Singh Hooda was a renowned freedom fighter. He is an alumnus of Sainik School, Kunjpura. He did his B.A., LL.B. was educated at Panjab University, Chandigarh and the University of Delhi. He started his political career from Youth Congress. Mr Hooda got married to Asha Dahiya in 1976. They have a son, Deepender Hooda, a Member Parliament and a daughter who is married to Kunal Bhadoo of Abohar (Punjab). Deepender married Swetha Mirdha on 21 February 2010 and a lot of prominent leaders conveyed their blessing in their marriage. Political Career Mr Hooda was elected as a Member of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha) for four terms in 1991, 1996, 1998, 2004. He also remained the Leader of Opposition in Haryana's Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2004. He also served as the President of HPCC (Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee) from 1996 to 2001. For three consecutive Lok Sabha terms he defeated Ch. Devi Lal in electoral battles fought in the Jat heartland of Rohtak in Haryana. Awards Bhupinder Hooda was awarded with 19th JAI National Award 2011, as Best Chief Minister of India by Mr. Oscar Fernandes (Former Cabinet Minister) program organised by Journalist Association of India under the flagship of Journalist Federation of India, by Mr. H.K. Sethi Secretary General of Federation, on 3 September 2011.
