Haryana Assembly polls: AAP to expose tainted candidates
Gurgaon: Though Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not contest the Haryana assembly elections scheduled for Oct 15, it will expose tainted poll candidates, its leader Yogendra Yadav said Friday.
Addressing media persons here, he said, "With the help of common people, we will expose the tainted candidates fielded by parties, especially national ones like the Congress and the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)."
The AAP Friday issued a special helpline number 09416016004 for public to share information on regarding candidates with corrupt or criminal background. Yadav said: "We are not contesting the Haryana assembly polls as the party is not strong enough in the state. We will neither support any independent candidate."
He said, "BJP is scared of facing fresh assembly elections in Delhi, so has been busy in 'horse trading'. The party's Delhi vice president Sher Singh Dagar was of late caught on camera offering Rs.4 crore to a AAP legislator."
He said the AAP's decision to fight the 2014 Lok Sabha elections countrywide was not wrong. The leader said: "Our party was one and a half years old and we managed to get four seats in Punjab." Yadav was himself the Lok Sabha candidate from Gurgaon but lost his security deposit. The assembly poll results will be announced Oct 19.
