Ujjain : The major political parties BJP and Congress have been going through rigorous contemplation over the decision of corporator candidates in view of Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) Polls-2015. BJP taking the lead declared its candidates from 45 wards while Congress will announce its mayoral and corporate candidates on Tuesday.
BJP senior officials and the Divisional Selection Committee had to consider several issues before the announcement of names for deciding the candidates. BJP has already declared its mayoral candidate Meena Junwal. In the list of 45 corporator candidates, new faces have emerged while BJP has kept a balance of castes, given seats to the wives of outgoing corporators and dropping the several sitting corporators. In certain wards disputes exist and hence the candidate has to be decided.
Divisional media in-charge Jayprakash Junwal informed that divisional selection committee and convener and State spokesperson Vijendra Singh Sisodia decided the names of corporator candidates during a meeting at Lokshakti Bhavan.

On the hand churning over the candidates is still going in Congress party at the residence of Pradesh Congress Committee president Arun Yadav in Bhopal. A panel of 4 mayoral candidates has been formed. District Congress President Anantnarayan Meena told Free Press that names of mayor and corporators will be declared on Tuesday. Those who have filed nominations with Congress party might get the seats. More than 40 wards have single names while there are panels in few wards. All senior leaders are in Bhopal.
