Nitish Kumar is all set to return as the Bihar chief minister for the third time with the Grand Alliance Janata Dal United, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress is likely to overpower National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2015. The BJP-led combine including LJP, RLSP and HAM, is expected to win within a range of 100 to 110 seats. After its victory in Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation and Uttar Pradesh Panchayat elections, Asaduddin Owais’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslemeen (AIMIM) may open its account in Bihar polls too wining 2-3 seats in Seemanchal region.

Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party is expected to win 1-2 seats in the Bihar polls, India.com Exit Poll predicted. If it becomes true, it will be a major setback for BJP and Narendra Modi as the party has been winning state elections since its victory in the Lok Sabha elections last year.

India.com Bihar Exit Poll Results shows that Yadav-Muslim vote bank is likely to favour the Grand Allinace in the state. Yadav votes in the crucial elections as it accounts for 14.6 per cent of the voters while Muslims constitute nearly 17 per cent of the state’s population. This year, BJP too fielded 22 candidates from Yadav community to break the arithmetic of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav who used to bag Muslim-Yadav vote share (over 30% of Bihar’s electorate) but failed. 

With Samajwadi Party and AIMIM in the fray, there are speculations that anti-BJP votes will be divided. However, the India.com Exit poll results predicts that the Grand Alliance will win Bihar elections with simple majority.

The voter turnout increased in the first four phases of voting which is believed to go in favour of NDA. In the first phase, voter turnout was 57%, in the second 54.82% and 53.85% in the third phase. The four phases of the poll witnessed 57.59% polling on average. The result of Bihar polls will be announced on 8 November.
