The India Today-Cicero post-poll survey says the BJP alliance is likely to win anything between 113-127 seats, while the Grand Alliance may win 111-123 seats in the 243-member Assembly. The exit poll by Chanakya has predicted a strong majority for the BJP-led NDA with 155 seats, the JDU-led group 83 while the others have been given five.
Meanwhile, the CVoter exit poll says the Grand alliance is set to win 122 seats and Nitish Kumar will return as Chief Minister. It says the BJP-plus will bag 111 seats. Another agency CNX said the BJP and its allies are set to lose the battle, winning only 95 of the 243 seats. It said the BJP and its three allies would secure 90-100 seats while the Grand Alliance led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will win 130-140 seats.
The last leg of polling in 57 Assembly seats in north Bihar's Seemanchal region witnessed an impressive 60 per cent polling, bringing down the curtains on an acrimonious contest where leaders from the two main camps, the NDA and the Grand Alliance, tried to communalise the election and even made personal attacks on each other.
