Congress Using All-Party Meet To Defer Telangana! Congress party might be planning to use the proposed all-party meeting being conveyed by union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde

Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday expressed apprehension that the Congress party might be planning to use the proposed all-party meeting being conveyed by union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde only to defer the decision on Telangana state formation.

TRS legislator Chennamaneni Ramesh demanded that the Centre should clearly come out with specific terms of reference for the all-party meeting well in advance, so that the political parties attending the meeting would have clarity on the issue.

“The minutes of the all-party meeting should be tabled on the floor of Lok Sabha for the parties to debate on it. We are suspecting that the Congress party is likely to use the all-party meeting to postpone the decision on the Telangana state formation. Shinde’s comments are giving rise to such a suspicion,” he said.

He demanded that the Centre should introduce the Telangana bill straightaway without any need for an all-party meeting, if it was sincere to resolve the issue.

“All the political parties, including the Congress, should come out with their respective stands on Telangana before December 26,” he said.
