Civic polls: Cong to start releasing candidates’ list within two days
BHOPAL : At final stage of ticket selection and after gathering several reports, the MP Congress Committee decided to form coordination committee for scrutiny and finalising of tickets for civic elections.
MPCC president Arun Yadav told media persons that the party would soon form coordinate committee and ticket distribution would start in a phased manner in two or three days. Yadav said “Process for candidate selection is at final stage. Reports are reaching from observers.” “The first list would be soon out,” he said.
The party would clear all those panels in which single names have been recommended by observers. The party would have a meeting with AICC appointed observers on Friday. He said party’s manifesto, to be released at state level had been sent for printing. Vyapam issue will be raised: Sanjay Nirupam
Interacting with media, AICC secretary and state in-charge Sanjay Nirupam said the party would raise the Vyapam scam in civic elections. It has affected the common man and now people felt cheated by the BJP government. Nirupam said if chief minister found that no one of his party or government is involved in the scam, why he did not send letter to the prime minister requesting CBI probe in the scam.
He said the party welcomed the High Court’s decision to set up SIT for probe but he said, STF should be allowed to probe. On a question, he said CBI is country’s premier agency for investigation and the Congress had full faith in it even as it is working under NDA government. It was the BJP which created propaganda that UPA government handled the probe in CBI from backside.
