Nagpur, Dec 12 State BJP spokesperson Girish Vyas was today elected unopposed to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from the local body constituency of Nagpur district.
Vyas was left alone in the fray after Congress’s Ashok Singh Chauhan and ‘dummy’ candidate Sanjay Mahakalkar withdrew their nominations today, the last day of withdrawal for the December 27 polls.
Nagpur Mayor Pravin Datke who too had filed papers as a dummy candidate also withdrew his nomination, official sources said.
