ABP News-Nielsen Opinion Poll: Which will form govt in Haryana?

abp

New Delhi: ABP News-Nielsen’s current Opinion Poll has revealed that BJP would win 36 out 90 seats in Haryana but would not be in a position to form the government on its own. INLD is seen winning 33 seats while the Congress is projected to win only 15 seats. Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) is likely to win three seats.

With 46 needed for a majority, BJP would require support of INLD to form a government. 'Narendra Modi' seems to be the main reason for those preferring to vote for BJP, whereas those intending to vote for other parties think their respective choices can provide more employment opportunities.

However, 46% of the respondents have said that they would not vote for BJP even if Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigns in their constituency and urges to vote for BJP. The survey has found that inflation is the major reason for shift from Congress to BJP and those who are moving away from INLD to BJP feel that INLD does not have good leaders in the party.

The performance of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been rated as somewhat 'Above average' with a mean of 3.27 with 45% of the respondents rating the performance of the Chief Minister as 'Good' or 'Very Good'.

The performance of the state government has been rated as 'Above average' with a mean score of 3.21. The good news here for Hooda is that a majority (29%) of respondents prefer him as the most suitable Chief Minister of the state followed by Captain Abhimanyu Singh (14%) and Rao Inderjeet Singh (13%).

Hooda (32%) has emerged as the most credible leader followed by Captain Abhimanyu Singh (14%) and Rao Inderjit Singh (13%). 43% of the respondents said that their lives have improved over the last 5 years whereas 40% of the respondents feel that their quality of life has remained the same.

Majority (66%) of the respondents surveyed said that they would not vote for INLD even if Om Prakash Chautala is allowed to contest in the assembly elections. 41% of the respondents feel that Modi’s magic would work but not to same extent as in Lok Sabha elections. 45% of the respondents feel that former Congress leaders like Rao Inderjeet Singh and Chaudhary Birender Singh would not be able to garner support for BJP.
