1. The traditional practice of deciding candidates at closed-door meetings will be passe in Karnataka, if leaders of all major political parties are to be believed.
2. The JD(S) has taken the lead by readying the first list of 113 names. Party supremo H D Deve Gowda announced that the first list of candidates will be released in May.
3. This time, key political parties want to rely on surveys to decide on candidates for the 2018 assembly polls.
4. "This time, the survey findings are being strictly followed to evaluate the winnability of candidates in each constituency. Tickets will be given based on findings of the survey for all 224 seats in the state, as the BJP aims to make a clean sweep in the 2018 elections," a senior BJP leader said.
