Kurnool MLC by-poll on Jan. 12
- The Election Commission of Indian today announced the schedule for bye-election for Kurnool Local Authorities’ Constituency in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council to fill the vacancy caused with the resignation of Silpa Chakrapani Reddy on August 14 this year.
- According to EC press release today, bye-election notification will be issued on December 19 and December 26 will be the last date of filing nominations. Scrutiny of papers will be held on December 27 and last date of withdrawal of candidate is December 29. Polling will be held on January 12 from 8 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will be taken up on January 16 and the entire process of by-poll will be completed by January 19.
- The Election Commission also stated that model code of conduct will come into force with immediate effect in the district. (NSS).
