In Kashmir30 people have died and over 1,400 been injured in the last four days as clashes continue over Friday night's killing of 22-year-old terrorist Burhan Wani.

4.35 pm: Police post set on fire in Romu in Pulwama district. No injuries or casualties, reports .

3 pm: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq issues a statement on the Kashmir situation.

1.50 pm: Suspected militants today attacked a police post in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said. None was hurt in the incident.

In another incident, unidentified persons hurled a petrol bomb towards security forces posted on law and order duty near Cement Bridge in Noorbagh area of Srinagar, the official said. No one was hurt in the incident too.

12.35 pm: A group of Imams meets Home Minister Rajnath Singh and urge him to restore calm in the Kashmir Valley. The Imams tell Mr. Singh that they will meet Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and local clerics of the State in an attempt to help bring calm in the Valley.

12.32 pm: Prime Minister has hoped for peace, has guided us and appealed that no innocent lives are disturbed, says Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh.

12.31 pm: Prime Minister has appealed for calm in the Valley. He has extended every possible help to the State, says Mr. Singh.

Latest On Kashmir Crisis:

  1. "The PM has appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace," said Jitender Singh, a junior minister in Mr Modi's office who is also a Lok Sabha MP from Jammu and Kashmir.
  2. Kashmir remains under curfew. Of the 30 people who have died in the clashes, one is a police officer.
  3. 40 weapons including AK-47 rifles, one light machine gun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition have been grabbed by angry mobs during the destruction of four police stations in south Kashmir on Saturday and Sunday.
  4. Last evening, a grenade was hurled from within a crowd of stone-throwers gathered in Srinagar. 12 paramilitary men, members of the central reserve police force (CRPF), were injured.
  5. The Pakistani government has tried to exacerbate the anti-government sentiment in the Valley by declaring Wani as "Kashmiri leader" and expressing outrage over his killing.
