Janata Parivar: Yadav, Kurmi, Mahadalit anger could spoil Nitish-Lalu post-merger game plan, Janata Parivar, Bihar assembly election

BJP attempts to woo minorities before state elections

As rivals try to forge a so-called secular front, party plans outreach drive, with focus on Muslims and Christians

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is planning a special outreach to minorities, especially Muslims and Christians.
The move comes in the backdrop of growing criticism of the BJP for failing to rein in fringe groups for targeting minorities and at a time when efforts are being made by political rivals to forge a so-called secular front.

Congress least interested in Bihar elections

Bihar does not figure on the agenda of Rahul Gandhi’s “spin doctors” despite the poll-bound state being the next battle ground between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his detractors.
The Congress is optimistic that its seats will increase due to the pre-poll alliance with the Janata Parivar, NCP and others. The Bihar polls may be a “do or die” battle for the BJP and the Janata Parivar for different reasons, but not for the Congress. This is because it has been a “neglected” state for the party since the last 25 years.

BJP to fine tune its Bihar election strategy, state MPs and MLAs to meet on Sunday

In a bid to fine tune its strategy and prepare for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders will meet in Patna on Sunday. The meeting will be held at Bihar Legislative Council member Sushil Modi's residence.
All BJP MPs and MLAs from Bihar will attend the meeting. BJP's Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav will also be present at the meeting which comes 11 days after the party held a rally at Patna's Gandhi Maidan and sounded the poll bugle.
BJP President Amit Shah and several other top party leaders addressed the rally held on April 14. A day later Shah discussed the political situation in the state in a closed door meeting with senior party leaders.

Jitan Ram Manjhi takes a u-turn on 'political sanyas', to pursue Ekla Chalo policy in Bihar

Manjhi took a u-turn on his earlier announcement to renounce politics if the rally turn out at his Patna show was less than five lakhs.

Talking to media persons at his Gaya residence on Friday morning, the ex CM said that his earlier statement on renouncing politics should not be taken literally and though the rally response was below his expectations and the bench mark set by him, it was enough to propel him in Bihar politics and as such the question of taking Sanyas simply did not arise. Putting up a brave face, Manjhi said that he will continue with Ekla Chalo approach to politics.

BJP looks to Surat unit ahead of crucial Bihar Assembly polls

For upcoming Assembly elections ,a meeting was organised in state BJP office a few days ago.
Well organised teams of BJP workers and leaders hailing from Bihar, who are settled in Surat, are getting ready to campaign for the party in the upcoming Assembly elections. They spent nearly a month in Maharashtra and coordinated with the local BJP unit. The party ended up winning the elections. Sources said that there are over 3 lakh people hailing from 40 different districts in Bihar and have settled in Surat and South Gujarat.

Nitish is only an announcement man: BJP

PATNA: State BJP president Mangal Pandey on Tuesday targeted CM Nitish Kumar again calling him a 'ghoshna vir' by "making announcements which he could not be fulfilled in the next four-five months before assembly election in Bihar.  "Nitish is making one announcement after another. He just wants his name etched on the cornerstones everywhere in the state.

Bihar polls: Differences emerge in Janata Parivar - The new anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition, the Janata Parivar, created by the coming together of six parties, is off to a rocky start with two of its constituents not seeing eye-to-eye on the selection of candidates for the assembly elections in Bihar, scheduled for later this year. The Parivar (Hindi for family) is made up of the Samajwadi Party, the Janata Dal (United), or JD(U), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Indian National Lok Dal, the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Samajwadi Janata Party.

JMM will contest Bihar assembly election: Hemant Soren - JMM would contest the assembly election in Bihar which is slated to be held later this year, Hemant Soren, the newly elected working president of the party said today. Not yet finalised how many seats but certainly will contest.Last time won one seat in assembly poll. We will mostly field candidates in the districts adjoining Jharkhand such as Jamui, where we have a strong base, but will take a final call only when we would receive details of party's position from the party's Bihar unit

Janata Parivar merger not to affect NDA: Paswan - "There would be no impact of the merger of six parties of Janata Parivar including JD-U and RJD in Bihar on the NDA-led government at the Centre and upcoming Bihar elections," said Paswan, chief of Lok Janshakti Party, an ally of the BJP. Paswan claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would form the next government in Bihar after state assembly elections later this year.

BJP compromising with national interests for power: Nitish - Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is compromising with national interests for the sake of staying in power in Jammu and Kashmir. The chief minister also said: "The BJP is in power in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been running the government, but Pakistani flags were waved there." "Whatever has not happened ever has taken place under the BJP rule in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
The chief minister said what shocked the people was that anti-Indian activities were taking place in Jammu and Kashmir despite the BJP being in power both in the state and at the Centre.
On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir authorities placed hardline separatist leaders Syed Ali Geelani and Masrat Alam under house arrest to prevent them from participating in a rally on Friday called by the separatists in Kashmir's Tral town.

After Delhi debacle, BJP to NOT announce CM candidate in Bihar - The humiliating loss in the Delhi assembly election has triggered a change of electoral strategy in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Launching its campaign for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls, the party said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) it leads at the centre will not field a chief ministerial candidate.
The BJP ran a high-profile campaign in February’s Delhi elections, projecting former police officer Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate, but won only three of the 70 seats in the assembly.
Senior leaders of the party said the Bihar election will be fought under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi without a chief ministerial candidate being named.
