BDJS plans to field 40 candidates, Bharat Dharma Jana Sena , Kerala Congress,Kerala, Thiruvalla

The Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) is aspiring to field its candidates in at least 40 constituencies across the State, sources told on Friday.

Among the prominent names it has drawn up are N.N. Murali, a surgeon who was fielded by the UDF as the Kerala Congress (B) candidate in Kottarakara in the last Assembly polls. He will be the BDJS candidate there this time around, according to sources.

Renowned Tantri and former president of the Kerala Yogakshema Sabha Akkeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathiripad will contest for the BDJS from Thiruvalla.

Triangular contest

With Mr. Bhattathiripad’s candidature, Thiruvalla may see a heated triangular contest this time.

BDJS vice president and Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha general secretary, T.V.Babu will contest from Nattika. Party general secretary and former Travancore Devaswom Board member Subhash Vasu is most likely to be fielded in Kayamkulam.

Kovalam Suresh, SNDP yogam’s Vanitha Sanghom secretary Sangeetha Viswanathan, and Padmakumar, the SNDP yogam’s Pathanamthitta Union president, are likely to be the BDJS candidates for Kovalam, Kodungalloor and Ranni respectively, the sources said.

While Kerala Congress leader P.C.Thomas is most likely to be the NDA candidate in Pala, the BDJS aims to field a prominent Nair candidate in Changanassery and Christian and Muslim candidates in Karunagapally and Ernakulam respectively, according to the sources.

The BDJS is planning to officially release its first list of candidates at its meeting in Kozhikode on March 14 and 15, the sources added.
